Obituary for Marjorie Alice Kerley (Gray)
Marjorie Alice Kerley
December 16, 1951 – June 21, 2022
Marjie peacefully passed away on June 21, 2022 at the wonderful Oilfields General Hospital – Black Diamond, AB with Bubba at her side. She has finally “gone home” and will be deeply missed and forever remembered by family and friends. She leaves behind, her blubbering husband Wade (Bubba), brother Ron Gray, step family Dianne Gregory, Allan Richardson and Glen Richardson and their extensive family extensions. She has certainly taken a large part of her children’s (Jana, Dustin and Lisa and their spouses’) hearts with her. Speaking of hearts, Marj had a heart of gold that always sought out a need in others and pursued it to resolution.
Marj was an avid (no, ridiculous) gardener. Those that knew her, realized she was an artist and her canvas was a pile of fertile dirt. After raising her three kids and co-raising her 5 grandkids, her first love was her plants (not me, because I called them weeds). She worked in greenhouses for 30+ years so she knew her stuff and shared with anyone interested.
She was my college sweetheart. Both being raised in Saskatchewan we met at SIAAS in Saskatoon in 1970 and the rest is history.
To all who experienced Marjie’s love, know that we are the greatest beneficiaries.
Stage 4 cancer took her life early, though nothing will separate this shared bond.
Lord hold my sweetie pie close to you forever.
With the seeds of ‘love planted’
In all of us who have gained
We shall always hold close
This beauty she has ingrained
As the seasons move along
There’ll be pain with our loss
But up rise the flowers
‘Her love’ for when we cross
A Celebration of Her Life, for friends and family, will be held at our home in Turner Valley on July 16 or 17 weather dictating.
