Obituary for Mario Alfredo Salerno
Dad’s principles which he lived by: work hard, respect everyone and family is everything.
On July 10, 2022 our dear father took his last breath at home surrounded by family. Mario Alfredo Salerno was born on August 24, 1934, in Cervicati Italy. Dad was a strong, hard-working man who had a great sense of humor and loved being with his family. He enjoyed making homemade wine, sausage and tending to his amazing garden.
Dad is survived by us girls, Rafela Grossi, Anna (Louie) Delcorno, Rosie Salerno, and Diane (Wallace) Wells; his adoring grandchildren; Lina (Dustin), Mario (Dorota), Marco, Phil (Kelli), Lucas, Nicholas (Lexus), Mike (Savannah) Chris (Ive) and Jake; his precious great-grandchildren; Emillia, Sofia, Matteo, Leo, Luca, Oliver and Henry and his many relatives in Calgary, Italy and France.
Dad will be greeted in heaven by our beloved mother Isabella (Ada), his parents, Michele and Emilia; brothers, Raffaelle and Frank; sisters, Maria, Elvira, Nina, Ada, and Esterina and his son-in-law, Leo.
Our family would like to thank his family physician, Dr. Ezaydi and his staff, Sara and Palvir; our friend and oncologist, Dr. Daniel Heng and colleagues at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, our pharmacist and friend, Tony Caramignoli as well as Dad’s amazing caregiver, Yvonne.
