Obituary for Margaret Birkett (McDougall)
Margaret Birkett, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away on January 24, 2021 at the age of 71.
Margaret was born in Glasgow Scotland and as a young girl, she came to Canada along with her Mother Mary and older brother William (Bill), eventually settling in Calgary. Margaret graduated from Queen Elizabeth high school in Calgary and went on to pursue accounting certifications at SAIT. She worked many successful years in the Oil and Gas field in Accounts Payable. Her greatest passion in life was being a Mother and Grandmother. Her love and devotion to her family will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her children Matthew Birkett (Wendy), and Christine Cossette (Brandon) all of Calgary, AB; grandchildren Michelle, Kael, Alexander, Courtney, Blake, Mary-Anne, Elizabeth, and Liam; brother Bill McDougall (Marianne) of Thunder Bay, ON; nieces and nephew Sandra, Debbie and Scott; as well as her dear friend Marilyn.
Margaret was predeceased by her mother Mary Williamson.
