Obituary for Marcel Leo Joseph Albert
Forever in our hearts.
During the early morning hours of Monday, May 15, 2023, Marcel Leo Joseph Albert, a beloved brother, son, father, and friend, was stolen from us.
Born October 25, 1984, in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Marcel lived most of his life in and around Saint John, New Brunswick. He moved to Calgary, Alberta, in 2017 to live with his sister, Mich. While in Calgary, Marcel opened his own Epoxy Flooring Company for which he had a passion.
He is survived by his parents, Leo Albert and Dixie (Derrick) Albert; sisters, Jennifer (BJ) Doucette, Micheline (Jody) Albert, and Staysie (Kenny) Albert; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He will also be missed by his children, Alex, Avalon, Isobel, and stepson Owen who held a big piece of his heart.
Marcel made plenty of friends everywhere and anywhere. Of his many friends, Ernie O’Hara, his “best and only friend,” stood out the most. Marcel considered Ernie a father figure in Calgary.
Family and friends will remember Marcel as carefree, loving, big-hearted, and one with a contagious laugh. Marcel is now at peace, but he will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. We will always cherish the good memories.
A private Family Visitation was held in Calgary, AB for Marcel’s sisters, Micheline and Jennifer. Marcel’s urn will be brought home to rest with family in New Brunswick. A Private Celebration of Marcel’s Life will be held in New Brunswick there at a later date.
