Obituary

Fujimoto, Lorne

With great sadness and broken hearts, we announce the passing of Lorne Douglas Fujimoto. After a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, Lorne passed away on Friday, June 19, 2020 surrounded by his closest friends and family. He was taken from us far too soon.

Lorne will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Deb of 30 years; his sisters, Marcia (Joe) and Sharon; his brother, Brian; his sisters-in-law, Cindy and Karen, and his brother-in-law, Doug (Brenda). Lorne was the beloved uncle of Lauren (Kevin), Blake and Cody (Michaela) and Great Uncle to Hunter, Oaklynn, and Kinley. Lorne also leaves three beautiful god daughters, Holly McKellar and Lexi & Kya Brookman.

Lorne will be remembered by his family and many friends as a world traveller and food enthusiast whose home was open to so many over the years. Lorne will always have a special place in the hearts of many. He is sorely missed.

A private family Celebration of Lorne’s Life will be held on a date to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lorne’s memory to PLASTIC OCEAN FOUNDATION CANADA. In their “Additional Comment Section”, please note that you are making a donation in memory of Lorne Fujimoto.

Dear Deb, Lorne was my very good friend of 36 years. A loving husband to you of 30 years.
I have to say i was a bit miffed with Lorne for moving you to Calgary many years ago. I soon got over that when you and Lornes door was always open and my family was always welcomed into your loving home.
Lorne will be always be remembered as a caring, gentle, Man, who's love for travel, food, and life was enormous.
Thank you Lorne for the wonderful role model you were for Holly and Erin, especially during their teenage years. You will be remembered as a loving God Father to Holly and " Funcle" to Erin and Holly.
Thanks for all your help and support you gave me around my house and with the big garage sale. You were always so giving of your time.
Lorne I will love and remember you forever. May this next journey take you to remarkable places.
My love to you Debbie, I will always be here for you.

Food has always been very important to our family. When Lorne visited me in Scotland, he would bring my favourite Canadian snacks, Deb’s delicious baked goods and gadgets that he thought that I’d like. He even brought frozen shrimp to make me tempura.
I will miss his intelligence, humour and boundless kindness. His grin and sparkling eyes.
It was a privilege to have Lorne as a brother and a friend.
I will miss you and love you forever,
Shar

I think of Lorne every day. He was a great guy and fun to be with.
I will miss him not being next to me at spin classes, going out together, and just discussing different things
going on in the world.
Deb,I am truly sorry for your loss , but I want you to know Lorne will always be in my heart.

I will always remember Lorne for his charm and good nature. He was fun to be with and interesting to talk to. He was a loyal and dear friend who always saw the best in everyone. I will miss our happy times together exercising, sushi dinners and sharing our mutual love for rugby. Thank you for being my friend..…………..Len Rabin

Debbie, Loriann and i just want to say we were both saddened to hear about Lorne.

Really makes you think of how true it is to live each day as it comes.
We can only imagine all the things you and Lorne had to deal with since the news was given to you both.

It takes a strong individual personality and a caring spouse to get through everything you both had to deal with.
Congratulations to both of you for enduring and being there to comfort each other.

We both wish you the best in the days and years ahead.

All the best.
