Liam Scott Gillies
March 30, 1994 - March 18, 2020
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Liam Scott Gillies, just days shy of his 26th birthday. He is survived by his Dad Gord, his Mom Kandi McElary, sister Laura, and many loving relatives across the country.
We are devastated by the loss of our beautiful boy.
Liam was a mischievous rascal from the get go. With a twinkle in his eye he was up for anything and always in the middle of the mayhem. He loved to play and create games and his childhood was filled with laughter. He loved making people laugh. School for Liam was a time to gather with friends and start planning the next adventure. Often during class.
Liam was having a fantastic semester at Mount Royal University on the road to a Sociology degree. He had firmed up work plans for the summer and was looking forward to returning in the Fall.
Those of you close to Liam know of his struggles. At times his journey was difficult, but he never gave up hope of bringing harmony to his life. It never changed his caring and compassionate nature. He had depth and character and a sweetness that touched anyone who knew him. We cherish our time together, happy memories filled with laughter and quiet times just hanging out with a kind and sensitive soul.
A celebration of his life that impacted so many people will come sometime down the road.
Liam had a wonderfully generous spirit and heart. Right now in this upside down world there are many charities, groups and businesses that are struggling. If so desired, we would love it if you found a way to make a difference to one that is important to you.
