Lee Kasdorf (ne Heyde) passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2019, finally freeing her from Lewy Body Dementia. She was surrounded by her family.

Lee is survived by her loving and devoted daughters; twelve grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, Carmen (Peter Gerrard) and their children, Christopher (Heather Sawula), Chelsey (Kristoffer May), Marissa, Kyle and Kayla; Lindsey (Brian Felty) and their children, Brandon, Danika (Victor Ronchetti) and Kellan; Julie (Stan McFarlane) and their children, Lukas and Molly and great-grandchildren Athena Taylor and Sophia May; as well as her sister, Wanda. She was predeceased by her parents, Ida and Jacob Heyde; her siblings, Ron and Elsie and by her loving husband, Gerry Kasdorf, in 2010.

Lee was born in Bassano, Alberta September 1, 1934 and grew up in Rosemary. She graduated from the Calgary General Hospital, School of Nursing in the Class of ‘56 as a Registered Nurse. She was a brilliant nurse and very proud of her career. It came second only to her family.

She was a fierce and devoted mother who led by example. She was an advocate for human rights and spoke out for racial equality and sexual and gender equality. She was also a staunch feminist who worked hard to make a difference in this world for her daughters.

We will be celebrating her life at Silver Springs Golf & Country Club, 1600 Varsity Estates Dr NW, Calgary, AB T3B 2W9 on Sunday, August 11 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lee’s memory to Lewy Body Dementia
