Lenore was raised on the family farm first near Queenstown, Alberta and later near Vulcan, Alberta. She attended country schools at Giffen and Snake Creek and later in town at Vulcan. After high school she graduated from Hillcrest Christian College in Medicine Hat, Alberta.

This is where she met Eric, the love of her life. They were married August 9, 1952 in Calgary. They lived in Portland, Oregon; Torrington, Alberta; and finally settled in Vulcan, Alberta where they farmed together for over 40 years, first east of Vulcan, then 6 miles north of Vulcan where they raised their three sons. After retiring, they moved to Airdrie, Alberta where they resided for 14 years before moving to Chartwell Harbours Retirement Residence in Calgary.

Lenore will be fondly remembered by her husband of 69 years, Eric; three sons, Merle (Marlene) of Airdrie, Lorne of Lethbridge, and Kim (Julia) of Rocky View County; seven grandchildren, Janell (Justin) Kern, Joel, Emily, Erin (Brock) Fulkerth, Chris, Joshua and Matthew; and six great-grandchildren, Ainslea, Titus, Zander, Jax, Arlo and Meadow; one brother-in-law, Charlie Budd; and numerous nieces and nephews.
