Obituary for Lawrence Edward Miller

Lawrence Miller
July 31, 1954 - January 8, 2024

Larry is survived by his wife Bev; son, Curran (Nadia); grandson, Shea and sisters, Barbara Benusic and Dianne Hooper. He was born and grew up in the beautiful town of Jasper, and lived there until further education took him to Edmonton. His teaching career began near Calgary at Chestermere High School where he stayed for most of his career, teaching Math, Physics and Chemistry and inspiring many young people to pursue careers in the sciences. He spent a further 10 years teaching with Chinook Learning Services.

Although he enjoyed planning and doing renovations, Larry’s passion was woodworking, and his self-taught artistry in furniture design and construction kept him busy in his workshop for many happy years.

He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family. Many thanks for the caring commitment of the physicians and nursing staff at the Tom Baker Cancer Clinic. A Celebration of Life will follow at a later date.
