Obituary for Kyle Daniel Laveck

KYLE DANIEL LAVECK

Kyle Laveck of Calgary, Alberta, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 5, 2024, at the young age of 37.

Kyle was born on July 23, 1986, in Lethbridge, Alberta to Debbie Pipher and Douglas Laveck. Kyle is survived by his parents; his two brothers, Josh and Ryan as well as his sister, Stephanie (Taylor). He also leaves his beloved daughter, Jewel Laveck and three nieces, Shian Laveck, Kaleigh Laveck and Briella Weis as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. Kyle is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Graham Mervyn Pipher and Frances Pipher (Campbell); and paternal grandparents, Samuel Joseph Laveck and Joyce Irene Laveck (Martin).

Kyle had an energetic, compassionate, and empathetic soul. People were instantly drawn to his charming and loving nature. He had the best sense of humour and made it his mission to always make people laugh. Kyle's hugs were second to none and were sure to make it known just how much he loved you. Kyle's love for his family and close friends was truly immeasurable. Kyle loved to cook and had dreams of becoming an infamous chef at a fancy restaurant one day. The times he was home, he could be found in the kitchen cooking his mom meals, experimenting and trying new things to cook.

Although Kyle was able to so easily show his love for others, he suffered immensely with his own inner demons which he attempted to quell with drugs, as so many others unfortunately do. The powerful pull from drugs took over, they controlled him, they owned him, they skewed his reality and numbed his heart. He was no longer the Kyle that we all knew and loved. He was the disease. Despite the never-ending love and support of his family, he was unable to get the support he needed to recover. Ultimately and unfortunately, he lost his long and excruciating battle with the disease of addiction. His soul is finally at peace.

Kyle will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a Celebration of Kyle’s Life on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Marlborough Community Centre (636 Marlborough Way NE Calgary, AB T2A 2V9).

If family and friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Kyle's memory directly to Alpha House HELP team, formerly known as the DOAP team.
