Obituary for Kevin Lee Brozny

Kevin Brozny passed away, suddenly and unexpectedly, in his home in Calgary with his wife by his side on Wednesday, May 12 2021.

He was very much loved by his wife, Pamela Whiteford; his stepsons, Tyler Whiteford and Tyson Whiteford; his mother, Tammy Brooker; his sister, Tya Brozny, and his brother, Brakkas Brozny. He is survived by his father, Keven Brozny, several aunts and uncles, and numerous cousins.

He was born in Red Deer, Alberta and considered himself the ‘city bound farm boy’ after growing up in several rural Alberta towns such as Castor and Veteran, before settling down in Calgary.

As a young boy, Kevin loved sports. Playing and participating in various activities such as volleyball, soccer, badminton, and his favourite through school being basketball. He furthered his love of sports by trying his luck at floor hockey, which sparked his passion for watching the sport primarily. It soon became his new favourite. He participated in Air Cadets and Army Cadets into his teens that sparked an ever-growing love for his country. This led to his never-ending journey in joining the Armed Forces, to serve and give back to the country he loved and was proud to be part of. His application was currently in review with the Canadian Armed Forces.

What can we say about Kevin? He was the life of any party. Not only did he love his family, but he loved everyone. He was sure to make friends anywhere he went. His voice and laugh, stories and jokes, were well heard and would let you know he was around. His love of music was everlasting. He would listen to everything from country to heavy metal, new and old, if he liked it he didn’t care what anyone had to say about it. At a young age he fell into karaoke, which soon became his number one go to at any party. He was ecstatic to listen to his friends and family sing, especially his mother. He would always brag about how amazing she was, and he wasn’t wrong. And while he wasn't the best singer, he could hold his own and always gave it his best shot; like he did with everything in life. He could be loud and obnoxious sometimes, but at his core he was a softy who cared.

He loved kids and animals, and if he was anywhere where there may be children or animals, you best bet he was playing alongside them. He loved hanging out, relaxing with his friends and family, telling stories and jokes, and trying to make everyone laugh and smile. He was genuinely interested when he talked to people about themselves, and several times ended up being a sympathetic ear for them. He was thanked numerous times for being there for others in their own time of need. Kevin loved being outdoors and spent a good portion of his time hiking with his family. He was also extremely artistic and put a lot of effort into his works including tattoos, drawing, and writing. He fell madly for creating things such as keep sake boxes and his horror doll collection. These will be greatly treasured.

He was extremely proud of his job and took pride in his work. This never went unnoticed by his employers over the years, who recognized him on his impressive skills and work ethic.

He was so many things to so many people and his passing is going to leave a dark spot in many hearts.

Kevin hated to see children or animals suffer. We ask if anyone would like to honour him, to please make a donation to either a Children’s Charity or Animal Rescue in his name. It would have meant the world to him.

“He took the passing of his baby girl, his little poppy seed, extremely hard and always said he would see her again in Valhalla. I know they are together now, and he has her wrapped in his big, strong arms and that gives me great comfort. Until we meet again my loves, I’ll keep you both safely tucked in my heart” - 🖤💖 Pam.
