Obituary for Keith Lewis Dayton

DAYTON, Keith Lewis

After a life well lived, Keith Dayton (Mr. D) passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 27, 2020 in Calgary, AB. A beloved husband, father, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother, uncle and friend, Keith will be deeply missed. He was born in Wadena, Saskatchewan on July 21, 1940 to the late Lewis and Margaret Dalshaug.

He is survived by his loving wife, Alice Dayton; daughters, Penny (Lorry), Kelly (Bud), Kari, and Rena (Rod); grandchildren, Amanda (Andy), Kara, Crystal (Adam), Andrew, Dayton, Jason, Shelby, Tyler, Ferguson and Ronan; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Jordan, Sophia and Davis. He is also survived by his six siblings, Jane, Gordon, Donna, Pat, Faye and Adele; a large extended family and many lifelong friends. Keith is predeceased by his sons, Darren and Andrew.

Keith worked many, many years in construction and shared his knowledge and passion for the trade with his children and grandchildren. He loved all things sports, as a player, a mentor and coach to many. Keith enjoyed going on road trips with family and friends, especially to see the mountains. Many will remember the strength in his handshake, the “knuckle crusher” to some. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Rosedale Hospice for adding comfort during his final days.

As per Keith’s wishes, no Funeral Service will be held. To view and share photos, condolences and memories of Keith, please visit www.choicememorial.com.
