Obituary for Kayly Joanne Marie Smith
It is with sadness we announce the passing of Kayly Smith on Friday October 30th 2020 loving mother who passed away at the age of 34.
Kayly was born on August 7 1986 in Lindsay Ontario to Richard Smith and Leann Smith (Richardson). She went on to receive her Law Assistant Certificate when she moved to Calgary shortly after her graduation in 2004 from Swan River, Manitoba.
In 2012 Kayly became pregnant with her pride and joy Sophia Smith. She than made the move to Cranbrook British Columbia to raise her daughter around family. When Sophia was born Kayly had said she never knew a love like a child before and it was the best thing that has ever happened to her. Kayly was an exceptional mother and was very invested in Sophia making sure Sophia had everything she could ever need or want.
Kayly was a very kind and generous person and would regularly make donations to children's clubs when she was able to and often visited Belly to Babies in Cranbrook, British Columbia to give anything she could and to make connections for herself and Sophia. Kayly was the type of person who would give you the shirt off her own back if it meant keeping her family or friends warm instead. She was a selfless person and will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
Kayly is survived by her daughter Sophia Smith, father Richard Smith, mother Leann Smith (Richardson), brother Shane Smith, sister Chantal Kennelly, nieces Lexus, Elise and Tesla, grandmother Marie Smith and several Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. Kayly is predeceased by her grandmother Joanne Richardson, grandfather Tom Richardson, her grandfather Raymond Smith, aunt Shelly Smith, aunt Jo Richardson and uncle Brian Richardson.
In lieu of flowers, donations are gratefully accepted to the Canadian Cancer Society in Kayly’s remembrance.
