July 13, 2020 Calgary

Katherine (Katie) Mollerson passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 13, 2020 at the age of 34 years. She is cherished and deeply loved by her parents, Bill and Marlene (Priebe) Mollerson. Katherine is survived by her siblings, Janice (Matt) of Houston TX and Andrew of Calgary. Missing Katherine are her grandparents, Juanita Mollerson of Balfour BC, and Otto and Linda Priebe of Strathmore AB. Katherine has a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins in Alberta and BC who will miss her beautiful smile and affectionate hugs. Family was one of Katie’s cherished connections.

Katherine loved spending time with friends and family. She shared an enjoyment of old cars with her Dad, walking at the Zoo and visiting parks, and especially time at our trailer on Kootenay Lake. Katie was an avid photographer and has a large collection of events in her photo history. She has collected a wonderful and detailed narrative of her interactions with loved ones through her pictures.

Katherine has been described as feisty, independent and loyal by those who knew her well. She loved music and collected thousands of songs in her library. Coffee with mom and dad was a special time to be shared. The last cup of coffee in the pot was a prize she enjoyed competing for. Katherine’s routine was to give hugs to everybody when leaving a family event, or when going to bed at night. These hugs are now a cherished memory.

Family was the most important part of Katherine’s life. She often expressed her desire to be part of dinners, outings and celebrations. She wanted to be part of a loving, caring, and accepting environment.

Special people in her life include Karolina and Niyi of CPLF, who developed deep and meaningful relationships with her. They encouraged her to live and enjoy life as she chose. Her friend Brian helped her broaden her life experiences through their shared outings.

Remembering Katherine’s engaging smile and loving hugs will give comfort to all who are missing her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Celebration is planned for September if permitted by COVID restrictions. To view and share photos, condolences and memories of Katie, please visit www.choicememorial.com.
