Katherine (Kay) Schecter (nee Squarok) passed away on March 31, 2020 at the age of 95. Kay was born in Minburn, Alberta on March 9, 1925 to William and Margaret Squarok. As a young adult she moved to Calgary and resided there for most of her life. Kay loved hiking and skiing in Kananaskis Country and visited weekly for many years. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Schecter in 1994. Kay is survived by her daughter Debbie (Mike) Flanagan, son Brad (Colleen Karran) Thompson and granddaughters Alana and Leah Thompson, sister Ann Lonneberg and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Kay was predeceased by her parents; brother, John Squarok and sisters, Mary Card, Pauline Jackson and Beatrice Panter. The family would like to express our appreciation to the staff at Brentwood Care Centre for their dedicated and compassionate care for Kay since August 2018. Kay has been cremated and no service is planned at this time.
