Obituary for Karolyn Anne Skjeie (Gamble)

Karolyn Anne Skjeie (Gamble)
April 15, 1949 – November 7, 2022

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

It is with profound sadness, but yet we rejoice for her, our beloved sister, aunt, mother and friend. Karolyn went home to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ on Monday, November 7, 2022 at the age of 73. She now resides in her Heavenly home and is reunited with all our loved ones. Your beautiful smile and laughter will always remain in our hearts. Until we meet again, you are so dearly loved and will be deeply missed.

Karolyn was born in Toronto, Ontario, and is survived by her son, Scott Skjeie (Jennifer) and grandchildren, Noah and Olivia Skjeie; her sister, Janice Hershick (Gamble); brothers, Keddy (Adele) and John Gamble; and her youngest sister, Susan Catena (Tony). She is also survived by her nephews, Jesse Gamble (Amy), Jonathan Catena and Dustin Gamble, as well as her grand niece, Alison Gamble, and her loving aunt’s, Anne MacArthur and Patricia Gamble. Karolyn was predeceased by her beloved father, Kellard Gamble and mother, Betty Gamble (Bullis).

As per Karolyn’s wishes, there will not be a Memorial Service. We encourage our friends and loved ones to donate to the Kidney Foundation of Canada.

Our family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff of Swan Evergreen Village by Origin, and the Haemodialysis Clinic at Peter Lougheed Centre for their medical thoroughness and support during the duration of the time Karolyn was in their care. The family would also like to acknowledge and thank Dr. Anastasia Aristarkhova for her compassionate service. The last two years spent at Swan Evergreen Village brought such joy to Karolyn’s heart, the staff and the friendships she connected with made a positive difference in her daily life. We are truly grateful to Choice Memorial’s Funeral Director, Taylor Smart for her exceptional service in the midst of our grief.
