Joy Estalilla Supnet passed away on April 26, 2022 at the age of 48 years. She was born on October 30, 1973 in Caba, La Union, Philippines. She was the fifth child of Remedios and Gerardo Supnet among their 7 children.
Joy is survived by her loving husband Anacleto Botardo; son Ezra Rafael Botardo; her mother, Remedios Supnet; siblings Mars, Edsel, and Allan Supnet; and nieces and nephews Trixie Joy, Jasmin Trisha, James Anthony, Rei Erica, Magell Angelo Ace, John Carlo, Kristiann July, Janel Kyla Joice, Gabriel Maxim, Patricia Ann, Kilmer Joshua, Amhera Mae, Janice, Allan Patrick, Iohanna Edzelle, and Julianna Edzelle.
Joy spent her grade school days in Caba Elementary School, and went to La Union Standard Academy in Caba for High School. Joy graduated in Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Virgen Milagrosa. She then worked as a staff nurse in Caba Medicare in La Union and in the Alexandra Hospital in Singapore.
Joy moved to Canada in 2001, where she met and fell in love with Anacleto Botardo in 2002 in Montreal. She moved to Calgary in 2004. Her happiest moment came when she became a mom to Ezra Rafael in 2006. In Calgary, Joy worked with Alberta Health Services at Peter Lougheed Centre as a Health Care Aid for 15 years. She was so friendly that she knew most of the employees at PLC. A devoted Roman Catholic, Joy attended church at St. Thomas More Parish.
Joy loved to go on road trips, picnics, and camping with friends. She loved taking pictures and making different poses to capture every moment. She also enjoyed collecting shoes, bags, and jewelry, and was gifted with a green thumb when it came to plants. She has so many collections at home that she spent most of her spare time taking care of, especially in summer time.
Funeral Mass will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church (15 Templebow Rd NE, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at 1:00 pm. Visitation and reception will follow at Choice Memorial (105, 4715 - 13 Street NE, Calgary, AB) from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm.
