It is with broken hearts that the family of Darren Joseph William O’Reilly announce his sudden passing on Friday, September 18, 2020 in Calgary, AB at the age of 55 years. Born on September 8th, 1965 in Drayton Valley, AB, Darren was raised in Rocky Mountain House, AB until finally settling with his family in Calgary, AB. Darren was a hardworking man spending his working career on the pipeline and as a concrete layer. His passions included fishing, camping and spending time with his family whom he loved dearly. Darren will be missed and lovingly remembered by his two precious children, Anthony and Deja-Marie and their mother, Deanna; his parents, Gerald and Irene; his sister, Brenda and her two children, Noelle and Laurence; his brother, David (Colleen) and their son, Kyle as well as many extended family and friends. Don’t grieve for me, for I am free, I am following the path God made for me.
I took his hand, I heard him call, then turned, and bid farewell to all.
I could not stay another day to laugh, to love, to sing, to play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joys.
A family shared, a laugh, a kiss oh yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full, I’ve savored much, good family, good times, a loved one’s touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts, and peace to thee, God wanted me now, from pain I’m free.
