Guay, Joseph Clifford (Cliff)
Joseph Clifford Guay (Cliff) passed away at age 66 early in the morning of Thursday, February 13, 2020 at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, AB from heart failure. He was born February 18, 1953 in Edmonton, Alberta.
He is survived by his girls, Jana, Jenn and Katie who will miss their Friday coffee dates, road trips and almost daily texts. His grandchildren and great grandchildren will miss his easy smile and willingness/ eagerness to discuss real topics, or just be ridiculous.
Cliff is also survived by his three sisters and brother, Gisele, Renee, Liliane and Lee. They knew their brother to be loving and kind, yet reserved and private. Renee remembers crazy adventures with Cliff when they were young; Gisele remembers how protective her “little big brother” was of her. As an uncle, Cliff was admired loved for his jovial personality.
Cliff was predeceased by his mother, Cecile Guay and older brother, Antoine Villeneuve (Tony).
Cliff was known by many and loved by most who knew him. He had many more friends than he ever realized. He spoke fondly of his “Safeway coffee crew” and was often told us about the great people he met in Kensington.
Above all, Cliff was private, and was therefore opposed to having a formal funeral or service. His entire life, he loved wilderness and wanted to be set free. He will be returned to nature in one last road trip with his girls.
We encourage all who loved Cliff to remember him and celebrate him in their own way with what he loved most; good company, good coffee, good music, and a twisted yet delightful sense of humor.
