Obituary for Jonathan Glen Rozander

It is with profoundly deep sadness that I announce the passing of my soulmate and best friend, Jon Rozander. Jon passed away at home, in my arms, after a torturous battle with COPD.

We fought his battle together but alone for the past number of months, as Jon did not want anyone to know of his decline in health.

Jon was born in Vulcan, Alberta and was raised as a young man in the farming community of Mossleigh, Alberta. After his father, Elmer, passed away when he was only 6 years old, Jon’s mother moved into the southwest end of Calgary where Jon spent his formative years.

The seeds of Jon’s future were planted in the garage of his Sundance home in 1984. From there he grew his printing company, JRS Print Solutions. Unfortunately, the floods of 2012 took a toll on the business’s good fortune and the doors closed in 2014. Jon continued to support his customer base in a scaled back capacity through his alignment with another printing firm.

Jon was predeceased by his parents, Laura and Elmer; and his brother, Ken. He is survived by his brothers, Don (Kathy) and Doug (Geri); his son Jason (Kristin) and grandson Jackson; his daughter Shannon (Josh) and granddaughters Mariah and Harper; as well as nephews, nieces and cousins.

I am eternally grateful that I was blessed with Jon by my side, albeit for only 12 years. He is fused into my heart and soul. Until we meet again, Rozander… I know you will watch over me and keep me centered.

To those who were here with unwavering support for both of us, you know who you are. Your compassion, comfort, support and help spoke volumes and very much played a key role in allowing Jon to let go knowing I would be surrounded with good friends and family who will never let me fall.

It was Jon’s wish not to have a funeral or celebration of life. His ashes will be spread in the spring in a special location he chose.
