Jodi Elizabeth Northcott Galindo

It is with our deepest sorrow we are sad to announce the passing of Jodi Elizabeth Northcott Galindo on Friday, October 9th, 2020. Jodi will always and forever be remembered by her children, Hailey and Caidin; her children’s father, Marcos Felix; mom, Rhonda; brother, Ryan; sister in law, Tamie; niece, Maddie; Auntie Karen as well as many other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her ‘Papa’ Bob in 2018.

Jodi was born in Calgary on February 3, 1972 - a ’70’s child she called herself - Jodi would spend her preschool years in Vancouver, BC and would spend her school years back in Calgary. Post-graduation, she would move to Mazatlan, Mexico where she would meet and marry Marcos. A city and culture she wholeheartedly embraced and loved. In her short time with us, she would teach English in Mexico while developing a tour company orientation for visitors; would work as a Call Center Dispatch Agent for the Calgary Police Service; would train and become an EMT and as of late, would operate a small cleaning business. A true free spirit who ‘rode with the wind’.

That Jodi possessed a zest for life which was unique and varied and she will be remembered by all who knew her. Her quest for living in the moment and with authenticity was notable and infectious. Jodi was kind, thoughtful, zany, highly empathic and possessed a real desire to make those around her happy. She was the girl who hugged strangers when she felt they were having a bad day. She was the girl who spontaneously showed up at your door with cookies or handmade gifts just because. She was the girl that wrote poems in your occasion cards and danced and sang whenever the moment caught her. Most notably, she was the mother who loved her children fiercely as well as those of family and friends.

‘Where once stood you, an emptiness now stands’

Those who so desire, may make donations in Jodi’s memory to Calgary Women’s Emergency Shelter.

A Visitation will be held at Choice Memorial on Friday, October 23, 2020 between 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Please use the RSVP button below to register to attend. Due to Covid restrictions, attendance limitations will be in place. To view and share photos, condolences and memories of Jodi, please visit
