Obituary for Joan Elizabeth Carbert

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Joan Elizabeth Carbert, on January 12, 2023 at 88 yrs. While we grieve our loss, we take joy in knowing that she is more alive than ever in the presence of her Lord and Savior and a host of family and friends.

Joan will be dearly missed by her children: George (Debi); Dorothy; Ken; Garth (Sylvia); and Rick (Dena); her grandchildren: Candice (Jonathan); BJ (Lauren); Kyle (Amanda); James; Allen; Richard; Jenna (Jordan); and 12 great grandchildren who were her pride and joy!

Joan also leaves to mourn her youngest brother Doug (Eileen); sisters-in-law Delores Amos; Kathy Amos. Katie Carbert; and brothers-in-law Keith (Margie) Carbert and Art Gourliuk.

Joan is predeceased by: her beloved husband and father of her children, Barrie; her parents Ethel and George Amos; brothers Harry and Roy Amos; sisters Helen (& Laurie) Snape and Barbara (& Pat) Hall.

Mom loved people. In the course of her lifetime, she has felt called to draw into our family many daughters, who call her ‘mom’, also those who call her ‘grandma’, and share our loss.

The family wishes to invite all to celebrate Joan’s life at Living Springs Christian Fellowship Church (2304 Yankee Valley Blvd. SW Airdrie AB) on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Joan can be made to NTOMI (New Testament Outreach Ministries International) ntomi.l.d@gmail.com or to a charity of one’s choice.

The family wishes thank all the staff at the Didsbury Hospital and all the individuals and friends who have supported our dear mother. This was truly priceless and God’s gift to all of us through a very difficult time. Mom loved you all.
