Jo-Enne Alva Olesen
May 23, 1949 - June 19, 2022
Jo-Enne (Gramzy, G, Mom, Jo-Anne) was known by many names, because she was deeply loved by so many people. She was kind, generous, loving, and always there to help her family. She will be remembered for her love of the colour teal, her sense of style, infectious laugh, and her infamous old family recipes.
She was born in Vancouver, grew up in Victoria, and eventually settled on coming eastward to raise her family in Alberta. Something none of us will ever understand. In her eldest daughter, Terrayna Davis, she passed on her curiosity, her vivaciousness, and tenacity-which she shows off every day. In her Granddaughter, Michelle Allen, she passed on her caring nature, love of old family recipes, and sentimentality. In her youngest (estranged) daughter Kate Davis, she passed on the importance of taking time for yourself, sense of humour, and stubbornness. She now greets her husband, Larry; mother, Marion; father, Edward; sister, Carole and brother, Ronald on the other side.
If you would like to come and pay your respects, we will be holding a Celebration of Life & Reception, 9am - 12pm, Wednesday, June 29, at Choice Memorial Cremation & Funeral Services. 105- 4715 13th Street NE, Calgary, AB, T2E 6M3. 403-277-7343. There will be street parking available. Dress according to your comfort level, but it is asked that you wear a pop of teal in honour of Jo-Enne's favourite colour.
