Obituary for Jeanne Carmen Favre (Favre)

Jeanne Favre
February 2nd, 1955 - Saturday, September 12th, 2020

Jeanne Carmen Marie Favre, our mama, sister, aunt, and dear friend, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2020. She lived life to the fullest for 65 years.

She is survived by her children: Renée (John), Thomas (Tim), and Connor (Ruby); twin: Johanne; sisters: Linda and Susie; nieces: Susie, Erin, and Robyn; nephew: Jamie; extended family, and countless friends. She will undoubtedly receive an enthusiastic welcome from her beloved parents, in-laws, relatives, and chosen family who patiently waited for her arrival.

Jeanne was born in Longueuil, spending her formative years in Quebec before moving to Toronto in the mid-1980s. She found love and built a family in Ontario, exuding the French “joie de vivre” in everything she did. She will be remembered as a fabulous chef, skilled tennis player, aggressive chanteuse, and spirited dancer. Music made her come alive and her unparalleled spirit was contagious.

Jeanne had a gift for making others feel valued, loved, and encouraged. She showed us how to be strong but vulnerable, kind but firm, and never take anything too seriously. Among her greatest accomplishments was helping her children achieve their dreams, supporting them in becoming a pilot, a lawyer, and an Olympian.

Jeanne taught us that every song deserved a dance, every lyric was worth belting out, and every moment needed to be appreciated. She loved life and imparted this last piece of wisdom: Surround yourself with good people, know when to walk away, and don’t subject yourself to any experimental medical treatments! Always making us laugh, our dearest Jeanne, we will remember you fondly, miss you terribly, and love you always.

We would like to express immense gratitude to Dr. Cenabre, Dr. Gimon, Dr. Ezeife, Dr. Evans, and Dr. Shergill, the incredible staff on Unit 47 of Foothills Hospital, and everyone at the Dulcina Hospice. Additionally, special thanks to Bill, Jonathan, Giovanni, and Garth for providing her with spiritual guidance throughout her journey. You all contributed to the dignity, love, and peace that she deserved in her final days. We will be forever grateful.

The family plans to hold a private Celebration of Life at a later date. If you would like to honour Jeanne in the meantime, please pour yourself a glass of wine, blow her a kiss, and toast to life. As she would say: “Every moment is precious, and there is no guarantee of tomorrow”.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to either the Dundas Seahaws Special Olympic Swim Team or to Dulcina Hospice. Click on the links below to be redirected to their websites.
