Obituary for Isagani A. Ramos

Memoriam for ISAGANI “NING” RAMOS
October 5, 1937 – November 20, 2020

Isagani Ramos was born in Manila, Philippines and passed away on Friday, November 20, 2020 in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 83 years.

A devout Catholic who spent his life in the service of God, a devoted husband to Nollie, and a loving and dedicated father to Rowena, Rhoneil and Rhonila. He is a caring grandfather to John, Pauline, James, Patrick, Justine, Ysabel, Jaser and Joana.

Ning is the epitome of a true believer and follower of Christ for, through his life, he has “walked with God and he pleased God” (Hebrews 11:15) for all his spiritual works as a lay leader and devotee. He was a true patriarch among the parishioners of The Last Supper of Our Lord Parish in Las Pinas City, Philippines where he once led its own chapter of the Adoracion Nocturna Pilipinas, President of the Parish Eucharistic Ministers, a Lay Minister of the Holy Eucharist, President of the Holy Family Chapel, and other church projects. He had always been responsive to share his time for the good of all. Ning’s righteousness and spirituality had also highlighted his colorful career as an executive of Globe Telecom where he retired after 30 years with the highest degree of loyalty and professionalism.

On the lighter side of Ning’s fulfilled life;
His love for music landed him a job as a radio station operator and part-time spinner at a radio station in Iloilo, Philippines.
His love for basketball who had actively played the sport in his younger years, loves to show off his point guard moves to his wife and kids.
His love for cycling where in the early 80’s, he co-organized and headed the Cultural Centre of the Philippines Cycling Club in Manila, a group of cycling enthusiasts that toured around South and North of Manila.
He is known for his talent in singing where his audience would cry out for “more” as they enjoyed listening to his velvet voice Frank Sinatra making him the best liturgical psalmist and member of the men’s choir of the parish.

Ning lived an exemplary life of positivity, perseverance, his constant pursuit for excellence but with a childlike attitude of entrusting his works and deeds to God, a genuine family man, lover of life, a caring and loyal friend, a true inspiration for everyone who knows him.

Ning has indeed “fought the good fight, finished the race and has kept his faith” (2 Timothy 4:7) that has pleased God who welcomes him to His Kingdom.
