Obituary for Ilene Jane Bachewich (White)
Ilene (DeeDee) Jane Bachewich passed away surrounded by her family at South Health Campus on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at the age of 85 years. Beloved mother, grandma and great grandma(GG). Ilene is survived by her daughter, Lora MacRobbie (grandchild, Megan); her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Shari Walden (grandchildren, Brittany (Jason) Brown and Colby); and son, Warren Walden (grandchildren, Bridget and Chase). Much loved GG to Tate and Oaklen Brown. Ilene was predeceased by her parents, siblings and her husbands.
Ilene was born in Innisfail to Ernest and Reta White, growing up on the Knee Hill Valley farm, the youngest of four, riding her horse, Goldie to and from school, preferring to be outside following her dad around but also learning the art of cooking from her mom.
Ilene moved to Calgary, first living with her sister and then raising her own family. She lived for her family and the family get togethers, sharing her gourmet cooking and loving support, lots of hugs and cuddles.
Ilene loved her outdoors, camping, boating and creating works of art in her various gardens. She enjoyed many wonderful travels after retiring and will be sadly missed by her family.
There will not be a Memorial at this time, the family plan to have a Celebration of Ilene’s Life in the summer (her favourite time of year). Tributes may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or a charity of your choice.
A special heartfelt thanks to the amazing Calgary EMS and SHC emergency staff. We were surrounded by angels who went above and beyond in their care of Ilene and her family.
