Obituary for Ian David Schneider

Ian David Schneider

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ian David Schneider on Sunday August 23, 2020, at the young age of 38.

Ian was a loving son, brother, and uncle. Leaving to mourn with loving memories are his mother, Georgina Schneider; his brother, Stuart Schneider; sister-in-law, Samantha Schneider; sister, Erin Goulder; brother-in-law, Myles Goulder; nieces, Ava and Ella ; nephew, Mason Goulder; sister, Kaylee Schneider; niece, Rosa Maurice and his partner, Anna Wright. Also left to mourn are a large circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Ian was predeceased by his father, Gordon Schneider.

Ian was born in Calgary, Alberta on September 30, 1981. He enjoyed working and being involved with the family business, Top Brass Restaurant & Lounge, until diabetes and kidney failure became a daily struggle in his life and consumed all his time. Family was always most important to Ian and came first. Ian was the absolute best cook and he loved having his family over for dinners to share his creations. His favourite places to spend his time were at the family cabin at Mara Lake, British Columbia and in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Ian loved to perfect the art of making sausage and canned goods. He also loved to take his pontoon boat out on the lake with all the family. He loved to garden and grow his own produce and planted a garden in the Shuswap just months ago.

Ian knew how to make the best of life and touched so many people and will always be remembered by his fun-loving sense of humour and crazy antics. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Ian’s Life will be planned and announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ian’s memory to Canadian Diabetes or the Kidney Foundation. To view and share photos, condolences and memories of Ian, please visit www.choicememorial.com.
