Born: September 16, 1963
It's with great love and sadness that our family mourns the loss of Hector Evans, who passed away on March 20, 2021 in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 57.
Hector lived most of his life in the Peace Country in Northwestern Alberta. He grew up in the Eureka River and Worsley area.
Hector suffered from schizophrenia most of his life, but that is not what defined him. Hector was an extremely kind person with a big heart who cared deeply for family and any he considered his extended family. Hector loved music, especially old time rock and roll, vintage country music and gospel.
He tried hard to fit in, on his terms, and to be independent. He showed us the kindness in others who accepted him and tried to assist him.
Hector is predeceased by his parents Morley and Kathleen and nephew, Jay.
Hector is survived by his brothers and sisters: Ruby, Thelma, Cindy, Donna, Wil, Jennifer and John. As well as nieces and nephews Amanda, Curt, Jesse, Landon, Chantelle, Rene, Julian, Ethan, Ari, Keano, Typanga, Tristin, Faith, Nevaeh, and several great nieces and nephews.
At a later date the family will host a feasting for relations and friends to share and celebrate the loving kindness, humour and life truths that Hector awakened within us.
We ask for tobacco down and prayers up as Hector makes his final journey home.
We will miss him but know he is free from suffering and on his way.
