Obituary for Har Sheung Gee

Gee, Har Sheung
1933 - 2020

The family of Har Sheung Gee (nee Ping Ting Ma) is saddened to announce her passing on December 11, 2020 in Calgary at the age of 87. She will be sadly missed by her sons Gordon (Kimberly), Gary, Gavin (Elaine); grandchildren Kristin (Orbehin), Skylar, Benjamin (Christina), Aimee, Mackenzie, Sarah, Daniel; brother James (Moon Ye), sister Ping Lan; brother-in-law Terry Gee, along with many relatives and friends in Canada and Hong Kong.

She was predeceased by her husband Grant Do Fung and son, Gilbert. She was born in the Guangdong province of China and grew up in Hong Kong before arriving in Canada during 1956. Until 2007, she lived in Edmonton before moving to Calgary. Her family was very important to her and she deeply loved and took great pride in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. She worked very hard during her many years in the Canadian garment and restaurant industry to help provide for her family, and she loved cooking the many meals for them and their friends.

Mrs. Har Sheung Gee was a Christ follower and would encourage any of her friends and relatives to consider the life and claims of Christ, particularly His birth, death and resurrection. As a family we are looking forward to the day when she and all of the saints will rise again to join Christ in His rule and reign over the earth as it is in heaven and restore all things to Himself.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Legacy Place Society (www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/6282) or Moose Lake Gospel Camp (www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/moose-lake-gospel-camp/).

Her ashes will be interred at the Beechmont Cemetery in Edmonton at the gravesite of her son, Gilbert in conjunction with memorial services that are anticipated during the spring of 2021 in both Edmonton and Calgary. In Calgary, at a later date, the family plans to plant a tree in her honor and / or have a memorial bench somewhere on the pathways near the Bow River where she loved to stroll.
