Obituary for Hank Grasza

Grasza, Hank

On Tuesday, September 3rd, 2019 surrounded by the love of all his ‘peeps,’ we sang our Songster home into the arms of Jesus.

Born January 23rd, 1953 in Magrath, Alberta, Hank’s family soon relocated to Calgary and made that there home. Hank worked in the eyeglass industry for close to 50 years and for all who had the pleasure to work and learn under his craftsmanship, he was the master.

For 6 1/2 years Hank audaciously lived with cancer. He chose not to fight his opponent, as he knew it was not his battle to fight but rather walked with a humble undaunted spirit, brave and valiant to the end.
He is our hero forever.
Even in death, he was a man of grace.

His humility, vulnerability and courageous spirit has done somersaults with all our hearts for he taught us to rise, stand upright and sing through some of the darkest nights. And the words, whether they were wrong or right do not matter…its in the singing.
We got to love you and it has been our greatest honor...and there are never enough words to tell what your love has done for us all.

‘ Life has its moments, under the sun moments, better then none moments…
And in the mean time and in between times you just gotta keep getting up and singing and holding hands and ‘kickin stones’ on the path ahead…’ -Hank

A Celebration of Hanks life will be held on Friday, September 13, 2019 at 11:30 am at First Alliance Church, 12345 40th Street SE, Calgary, AB in the Harvest Room.
