Obituary for Gloria Anne Nemez

Gloria was born in Benito, Manitoba on December 21,1951. She graduated high school from Swan River Collegiate Institute in 1970 and started her work for the RCMP in 1971 through until 1988. In 1977 Gloria was engaged, and married the love of her life, Dan Nemez. After bouncing around Manitoba, Gloria and her husband moved to and settled in Calgary, Alberta where they welcomed their two daughters, Larissa (1983), and Chrystal (1984), into their family. In 1988 she made the decision to end her career with the RCMP and immersed herself into her role as mother and homemaker. Later on in life she enjoyed working with dear family friends at Edelweiss Village until she retired in 2011.

Gloria had a heart for God and Evangelism. She served with the Evangelism Corps., The Mustard Seed, along with many other ministries, local and abroad. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who poured her heart and soul into raising and caring for her family. Continually involved in her community, Gloria volunteered in church, school, and other community programs. Gloria loved people, cultivating and investing in many friendships throughout her life with her renowned hospitality, and welcoming nature.

From a young age, Gloria had a passion for music and was an accomplished vocalist, singing with the church choir and sharing her beautiful voice at many events over the years. She was a talented artist who's many skills included cake decorating, chocolate making, and needle work, as well as having a flair for making home entertaining into an exquisite affair. She also enjoyed being outdoors in creation, where she pursued her love of gardening, going for walks, camping, fishing, hunting, as well as embarking on many traveling adventures with family and friends.

Her long battle with progressive supranuclear palsy came to an end March 5, 2021 at Agape Hospice with her husband and daughters by her side. Gloria was predeceased by her brother Edgar, her mother Alice, her father Peter, sister Valerie, and brother Ken. Gloria will be forever loved and remembered by her husband Dan, daughters, Larissa (Jack) and Chrystal (Tyler), grandchildren, Nia, Zoe, Lily, Emma, Finn, and Poppy, as well as her extended family and many friends.

Due to Covid19 restrictions, a private Funeral Service will be held at Brentview Baptist Church on Friday, March 12, 2021 at 10:30 am.
