Geraldine Mary Toth
Geraldine, a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away on Sunday, May 8th, 2022 at the age of 81 years. Geraldine was born in Calgary to Edna (Tronnes) and John Edmondson and was the first born of eight children. As a child of a prairie schoolteacher, she spent her younger years in several country schools. As the family grew, they eventually settled in Carstairs where she attended high school, worked and then moved with her sister to Calgary. Even though she was a hardworking single mother she always put her children first.
She devoted most of her time to them, her siblings, grandchildren and most recently great grandchildren. She was grateful for her large extended family throughout Alberta and beyond. One of her favourite things were family gatherings of any size at any place. She loved having coffee with anyone and enjoyed weekly breakfast with her church group.
Geraldine is survived by her two children, Paul (Shawna) and Kathy (Peter); grandchildren, Jocelyn (Curtis), Derek (Dayna), Jeremy, Christopher, and Aidan; great grandchildren, Jordan and Miles; siblings, Wendy, Bob (Wilma), Shirley, Pat, Kent (Tilly) and Kelly; niece, Ann (Kevin) and great nephews, Keagan & Dagen; nephew, Chris and niece, Morgan (Travis) and great niece, Finley. She was predeceased by her brother, Tim; brother-in-law, Terry; sister-in-law, Cathy; sister-in-law, Jean; her children's father, Paul.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 11:00 am at St. Agnes Catholic Church (302 Veterans Way NW, Carstairs, AB T0M 0N0) with interment to follow at the Carstairs Cemetery. A sharing gathering will follow at Half Century Community Hall (1139 Osler Street, Carstairs, AB T0M 0N0)
