Gerald Gentes
October 2, 1955 - March 24, 2020
On the early morning of March 24, 2020, Gerald Joseph Gentes passed away at the age of 64. Gerald was born to Raymond and Vera Gentes October 2, 1955 in Nokomis Saskatchewan. Gerald completed his education in Stoughton Saskatchewan before he entered the workforce in the construction industry as a drywaller. As a young man he continued this trade until it took a toll on his knees. Gerald then began his work in the oilfield as a Mud Engineer.
Gerald loved to travel the world, his new oilfield career presented many challenges to him which took him to many interesting countries such as Cuba and Saudi Arabia. Gerald’s work was his life, and when he coupled this with his love for travel, he was at the high of his life.
Gerald was a man of great heart, helping anyone out that he could: always giving you his time, mentorship, brotherhood and love. Being the eldest brother, he always fulfilled the role of the big brother and took this task in stride. Gerald loved to laugh and spend his down times with friends on his acreage in Beaverlodge, Alberta, where he called home.
He is survived by his siblings, Yvette, Lorette, Judy, Danny, Lu, Jackie, Patrick and Robert; several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Gerald is preceded in death by his father, Raymond; mother, Vera and son Zane.
