George Gelmich, born on March 5, 1928 in Vikno, Ukraine, passed away peacefully September 3, 2020 in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 92 years.

George is survived by his loving family: son Howard (Olive) Gelmich of Calgary, Alberta; three sisters Gladys (Wayne) Somerville, Anne Hoffman, and Sophie Fefchuck; sisters in law Joyce (Bill) Lutsch and Irene Lamers, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his loving wife Lydia (nee Lamers) of 52 years, his infant son Glenn, his parents George and Effie, his step-mother Katie, his brother Joe, and his sisters Elizabeth and Carolyne.

My condolences to the Gelmich family, he was a great Principal at Scotsburn, a kind man and well respected. Many great memories have been shared on Facebook, for me I always think of him and his love of soccer, so we played lots of it.
Our thoughts are with you all.
