Obituary for Genevieve "Jenny" Taylor

Genevieve [Jenny] Taylor nee Bleile
December 30, 1940 - January 7, 2024

Jenny Taylor of Chestermere AB passed away peacefully in Calgary, AB on Sunday Janurary 7, 2024 at the age of 83 years.

Jenny leaves behind her husband of 54 yrs, Greig; her four daughters, Debbie, Clara, Roxanna and Stacey; sisters, Sophie, Mary and Margeret; brother, Raymond; ten grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

She was born in Wilkie, SK and raised on a farm. The family then moved to BC for a couple of years, but her mother missed the prairies so back to Saskatchewan they went.
Jenny moved to Calgary around 1967 and later met her now husband. She loved country music and movies and old-time rock & roll.

She was what you might call a perfectionist and believed in doing things right the first time. She was a great cook and enjoyed cooking and kept an immaculate home.
Jenny also enjoyed shopping even in the last few years when she suffered greatly with back pain and knee pain, she would spend hours shopping and reading every single label to see what ingredients were in the food. She really enjoyed watching the late-night nostalgic movies while reading about health and checking out new recipes in the woman’s world or first magazines.

Jenny could pretty much do anything very well. She set her mind to being a homemaker, cooking, sewing, crafts and she loved to work in the yard, especially in her flower beds and gardens. She did alot of canning and made the most delicious pies.

One of her favorite things she liked to do was pick berries even if she had to stop on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere to pick whichever berry she noticed on the drive. And she honestly even liked to collect rocks.

Camping would probably be high on her list of favorite things to do. If she wasn't quadding or floating down the river on an inner tube. Jenny would be out picking strawberries in their favorite camping site in Burnt Timber. Jenny loved to be around excitement. The term FOMO suites her well as she loved to visit with family and friends and meet for coffee, or have home parties or simple get-togethers and nobody left hungry – that’s for sure.

We can just picture Jenny up in Heaven, visiting with her old friends and family.

A Celebration of Jenny’s Life will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 1:30 pm at Choice Memorial Rocky View Chapel (243256 Garden Road Road NE, Rocky View County, AB).
