Generoso Monte
August 31, 1939 - April 3, 2023
Generoso “Gino” Monte of Calgary AB passed into the loving arms of Jesus, Monday, April 3rd 2023, at the age of 83 years. Gino was born the 8th of 9 children in Pontecagnano, Faiano, Italy, on August 31st, 1939. He immigrated to Canada in 1965 to Gleichen, Alberta before settling in Calgary in 1967. On Easter day 1967 Gino went to introduce himself to an Italian family. Little did Gino know that the love of his life, Lina would open the door. Gino & Lina soon were blessed with twin daughters who brought unconditional love to his life. Gino worked in construction for many years before finding a job as a service elevator operator at the Foothills Hospital, where his kindness and selflessness made an impact lasting well beyond his retirement.
Gino was an obedient follower of God and often sought out his faith to come before everything through his life. Gino was passionate about many things which included his garden, flowers, and his involvement in the church. Gino will be remembered by his generous and humble presence. Besides his loving wife, Gino is survived by his two daughters and two
sons-in-law, Nicoletta and Ryan Eubank, Diana and Kevin Bozzer, and his 4 granddaughters, Taylor Eubank (Colin Perkins), Brianna Eubank, Marina Bozzer, Francesca Bozzer, and numerous nieces and nephews in Italy, London, and Calgary including his numerous friends.
Gino often expressed that Lina, his daughters, and 4 grandchildren were his life, and he loved them with all of his heart. Gino will be greatly missed and his legacy will live on within our lives, and hearts.
