Gayle Lorayne Calder (nee Wilson)
1934 – 2022
It is with great sadness that our family announces Mom's passing while comforted by her children by her side on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at the age of 87.
Born and raised in Saskatchewan, with homesteader roots in Bradwell, SK. Mom moved around as a child, finally settling in North Battleford with her parents, Irene and Dalt and her sister and bestfriend, Margaret.
Mom spoke fondly of working for Sasktel as a phone operator in her younger years and as a Nursing Assistant while raising her family. The biggest and most rewarding/challenging job was raising her family in which she most prized.
Mom and Tommy enjoyed selling her baking and crafts at local markets and traveling to visit friends in their early retirement years.
She will be deeply missed by her children and grandchildren that she leaves behind, Dwayne McClelland (Deana), Joel; Warren McClelland; Laurie Hutchinson (Avie), Erik, Brett (Caitlin); Leigh Reed (Dave Love), Lelland (Mathew Jahns), Gerald, Darcie Love; Darren (Susan), Jack, Scott and Liam McClelland; and extended family that includes Jason (Lin) Calder, Eddie (Maggie) and Ruth Calder, Hilda Cunningham and family, Scott Roth. Mom also leaves behind her cherished sister, Margaret McLean and cousin, Shirley (Arnold) Cline. Along with loving nieces and nephew and memories of her lifelong friends and families. Mom was predeceased by our dad, Albert McClelland in 1975; daughter in-law, Debbie Bingham (Warren) in 2018; and son in-law, Thomas Reed (Leigh) in 2008. In 1979, Mom married Thomas Calder who sadly passed earlier this year.
