Frederick Suwek
April 17, 1941 - October 28, 2020
Frederick (Al) Suwek, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at the age of 79 years.
Al was born in Montreal, Quebec, and was the youngest child of Jan and Josefa Suwek. His older sister Helena and brother Richard rounded out this family of hard working Polish immigrants who originally hailed from Jurkow, Poland.
The family maintained a tight connection to the local Polish community and to family and friends in Poland. It was on a family trip to Poland that Al met his future wife Jadwiga (Julie) Kaleta and her family.
Julie later moved to Montreal where she and Al were married in 1971. After some early moves to other cities, Al and Julie settled in Calgary and went on to have two children: Paul and Eva.
He is survived by his daughter, Eva (Calgary), his son, Paul and daughter-in-law Kara (Vancouver) and several nieces and nephews. He was also the proud grandfather of Ava and Cole Suwek (Vancouver).
Al is predeceased by Jadwiga, Jan & Josefa, Helena and Richard.
He is dearly missed.
