Obituary for Francis (Frank) Brian Brox

Francis (Frank) Brian Brox
June 1st, 1955 - April 11th, 2023

Frank Brox, beloved husband of Jean Brox (née Harder), passed away at Agape Hospice in Calgary, Alberta on April 11, 2023, at the age of 67 years.

He was the loving stepfather of Daryl Hewko (Rhonda) of Grande Prairie, Brian Hewko (Laura) of Calgary, and Carol Clancy (Rob) of Calgary.

He will be lovingly remembered by his siblings in Ontario, Linda Brox (the late Craig Jameson), Jeanette Brox (Valentin Simanovsky), Dave Brox, Earle Brox (Deborah), and Kelly Brox; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and six nieces and nephews. Frank was predeceased by his wife, Jean Brox (nee Harder), and sister, Carol Jones (Brox).

Frank was born in Walkerton, Ontario and spent his early life in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario. As a young adult he traveled West and made a new life and home in Calgary, Alberta. Frank was an accomplished trap and skeet shooter and a gifted photographer. He loved to travel to warm and exotic places. Pictures he took on his travels are lovingly displayed in the homes of family, friends, hospitals, and doctor’s offices. His flower gardens were glorious. He enjoyed planting every spring and tending his garden and planters in the summer, resulting in a beautiful display in the neighborhood. Frank could be found at his barbecue year-round preparing his favorites - cedar plank salmon, beer can chicken, steaks, and burgers for family and friends. He was a generous man with a quick wit. He will be greatly missed by all who know and loved him.

The family would like to thank the many doctors, specialists, medical professionals, and the compassionate staff at Agape Hospice.

Donations in Frank's memory can be made to the Tom Baker Cancer Centre through the Alberta Cancer Foundation or the Salvation Army Agape Hospice.

As per Frank's wishes, a private family viewing and cremation have taken place.
