Obituary for Fong Kim Kung

Fong Kim Kung
Apri1 1, 1925 - December 7, 2019

Fong Kim Kung passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at the age of 94 years.

Mom was born and raised in Baisha (Bak-Sa), a small village in Taishan, Guangdong, China where she met and married our Dad, Lee. She immigrated to Canada with our sister in 1966; Dad travelled to Canada more than a decade and a half earlier. Reunited, they were able to continue their journey in life together, raising three more children.

Mom is survived by her children: Betty (Sid), Harry (Alice), Art (Corina), and George (Valerie); Grandchildren: Philip (Rita), Daniel (Danielle), Randy, Pierson, Courtney, Evan, Cayleb, and Eli; Great-grandchildren: Isaac and Jacob. Mom was the eldest of ten children and is also survived by many siblings, cousins, nephews and nieces in Canada and China.

Mom, there are not enough words to describe your resilience, humility, love, compassion, kindness, servant heart, generosity, selflessness, and dedication to your family. You triumphed through many hardships and taught us invaluable life lessons of how to love and treat those we encounter. Even till the end you were selfless and nurturing, putting us first; telling us not to worry about you.

We honour and celebrate your life continually, and with gratitude, we thank you for the sacrifices you made for us. You provided us the opportunities in life that you were not given, and for that, we are forever grateful.

May you be at peace reunited with Dad who had, again, gone ahead of you more than a decade and a half earlier. Be assured that we have all been set on the right path because of you both. No words can express how dearly we love you and miss you. You will forever be in our hearts. ~ Love, Your family.
