Obituary for Emil Stelter

Emil Stelter

Emil Stelter passed away in his sleep on Friday, February 5th 2021 at the age of 96 ½ and lived a great and wonderful life.

He was born on October 10, 1924 to Samuel and Bertha Stelter in Kischelufka, Russia. He immigrated to Canada in 1928 near Bruderheim, Alberta and eventually settled in Rosevear. He married Sophia Whitney and raised their four children in Smith, Alberta where he ran Stelter Lumber. In 1967 he moved his family to Springbank and switched careers when he founded West End Auto Wreckers, and later moved to selling real estate with Century 21.

He loved gardening at his Bowness Property on the river, discovered cooking in his 60’s and loved to fish. He will be missed.

He was pre-deceased by his wife, Sophia; his daughter, Debbie, and siblings, Hertha, Carl, Alma, John, Gus, Rueban and Elder. He is survived by his children, Christian Stelter (Sheralee), Cindy Mckay, and Maria Delaney; grandchildren and great grandchildren, Christopher Smith (Nicole) Sebastian, Krystal Stelter (Dana Hutt) Baby Hutt, Sarah Stirrett (Ryan) Benjamin, Taylor Stelter, Ryan Stelter, Mac Stelter, Corey Scheuchner (April Lussier) Sydney & Paisely, Camille Cain (Graham) Finlay, Francis, Fia, Caley McKay, Ava Miller (Joe Costa) Jack-Ryan, Grayson, Gabriel Delaney, and Geneva Delaney.
