Obituary for Elizabeth Louise Lamb
Elizabeth Louise Lamb passed away on the morning of Sept 5th, 2022 at the Rockyview General Hospital. She was 76 years old and had fought cancer for the past two years. She was dearly loved and is survived by her children, Kathi (Steve) Waddell, Carole (Ross) Kroeger and Craig (Shelley) Kembley. Her numerous grandchildren whom she prayed for avidly include from Kathi’s family Adam, David, Tara, Okello, Obong, Ajullo, Connor, Lyndsey, Erisa, Jona, Jordan, Elisha, Bella and a host of other beloved foster grandchildren, Carole’s children Mathew, Kyle and Joshua Kroeger, Craig’s children James and Grayson. Her great grandchildren from Mathew are Bently and Skyler. She is survived by her brother, John Lamble and her Cousin Jim Lamble.
She was adopted by her parents Ethel and Bruce Lamble at the age of 3 and grew up in Toronto along with her brother John. She married Todd Kembley at 17 and lived in Toronto until 1969 when they relocated to Chatham. Four years later they made their pilgrimage west to Calgary where they remained and raised their children. Elizabeth and Todd later went their separate ways. Elizabeth moved to Kelowna for a number of years and then back to Calgary to help care for her parents as they aged. She is currently residing in heaven.
Elizabeth was loved by the numerous friends that she attracted wherever she went, including those at Kiwanis, in her church and prayer group and in the various communities she lived, worked and played in. She loved Jesus, her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, scrabble, gardening, fishing, entertaining, belonging to her church community, organizing get togethers in her apartment, writing and laughing whole heartedly.
Elizabeth’s cremation has already taken place and her Celebration of Life will take place at her church, Grace Presbyterian, 1009 – 15 Ave SW, Calgary on Monday Sept. 19, 2022 at 2:00 pm. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Choice Memorial Cremation & Funeral Services (403) 277-7343.
