Elizabeth Alice Greig (Betty)
August 3rd, 1922 – August 18th, 2020
Betty passed away peacefully August 18, 2020 in Calgary surrounded by her loving family. She is fondly remembered by her daughter, Catherine France; granddaughter, Lilah Hall; great niece, Tracy, as well as her dear friend of many years Eleanor McCreadie.
Born in Calgary, Betty moved to New Zealand after her marriage to New Zealand fleet air arm pilot Douglas Greig, who predeceased her in August of 1990. Betty and Doug returned to Calgary in 1950 where Doug practiced pharmacy until his passing. Betty was a dedicated volunteer at Rockyview General Hospital in Calgary for 47 years, as well as with CGIT and the United Church of Canada.
Betty’s family would like to thank Dr. Maria Celis and the staff at Chinook Care Centre in Calgary for their wonderful care in her final months. Special thanks also to Betty’s dear friend Eleanor for her dedication to Betty’s comfort and well-being over many years.
