Obituary for Elizabeth Ellen Daniel (Lowther)
Elizabeth Daniel
July 28th, 1928 - Thursday, January 9th, 2020
Elizabeth Ellen Daniel sadly passed away in Calgary on January 9, 2020 at the age of 91.
She was born in Wayne, AB to James and Alice Lowther who immigrated from England. They moved to Calgary and bought land on Elbow Drive to open up the largest Black & Brown Lab dogs and Springer Spaniel Bird dogs in the Country until their passing.
Elizabeth (Betty) loved her 3 sisters Doreen, Joyce, and Alice who have since preceded her. They all worked hard on the farm with the dogs and horses.
Elizabeth married Robert Fuller Daniel (who served in the navy during WWII) in 1949 in Brooks, AB. Later they lived in Calgary, Coquitlam, Vernon, and Kamloops, BC until Dad passed away in 1997.
She had 3 children, Jim Daniel who sadly passed away in 2009, Glenn Daniel who resides in Maple Ridge, BC, and Brenda Burger (Stu) and their children Joshua, Josee, and Jessi of Calgary. Her grandkids are accomplished figure skaters in Calgary.
Elizabeth was so very proud of her children, and absolutely adored her grandchildren, and they loved her back. She put great pride in her knitting and sewing, and the grandkids were the recipients of many many beautiful knitted sweaters. Mom was a beautiful singer, and music was a big part of our family. We have great memories of her family and their spouses in the good ole days playing the accordion, banjo, piano, and guitar at many of our get togethers.
All of us were so blessed Mom that you lived 91 years and had a good life until your final year with health issues. You brought us great joy Mom. We are going to miss you and cherish you until we meet again in glory.
Elizabeth will have a Memorial in Kelowna in the summer where she will be buried alongside of her husband Bob and son Jim.
