July 25th, 1962 - January 5th, 2020
Doug Michetti passed away on Sunday, January 5th, 2020 at the age of 57. A Celebration of Doug’s Life will be held at the Chapelhow Legion (606 38 Ave NE) on Monday, January 20, 2020 at 1:00 pm.
Doug is survived by his parents, Marilyn and Doug Sr., his sisters Lisa (Ralph) and Meredith (Dori), his aunts and uncles: Dolores Mantua, Meryle Michetti, Ken Michetti, Helen and Jack Macnab, and his nieces and nephews: Greg and Kenny Hopfner, Madison and Evan Kramreither, together with great nieces and nephews and many cousins.
Doug completed the Telecommunications Engineering Technology program at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in 1987. He began his career with TransAlta Corporation and later moved to the oil and gas sector where he had a successful career in that industry while holding various positions of responsibility. His last position was with Enbridge in both Calgary and Houston, Texas.
The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to the staff of Dulcina Hospice in Calgary for the tremendous care and love they gave Doug during his time at the hospice. In Doug’s honour, a donation may be made to Dulcina Hospice (110 Evanspark Manor NW, Calgary, Alberta, T3P 0N4, 587-230-5500).
Doug will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
