Dorothy Viola (Morros) Martell will be remembered as a Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother. She was born June 9, 1938 at Saint John General Hospital in Saint John County, NB. Dorothy passed away on September 15, 2019 at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, AB. She was the last of six children born to Irene (Frye) Morros and Gilbert Morros.
Dorothy was predeceased by her son Robert Monte Martell and husband of twenty years Robert Joseph Martell. She is survived by her children Dorothy Ann Martell (Calgary, AB), Monte Richard Martell (Calgary, AB), and Edward Joseph Martell (Calgary, AB); grandchildren Melissa Dawn Martell (Comox, BC), Roberta Dimoch-Hennings (Peterborough, ON), and Sarah Dorothy Martell Calgary, AB); great grandson Hayden James Emde (Comox, BC); step grandchildren Candace and Christine Guillemaud; and step great grandchildren Faith, Cali, and Liam Guillemaud. Dorothy is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and a huge number of friends as she was well known in her neighborhood of Bowness for 35 years.
To say she will be missed is minor to the sorrow that will be felt by all.
Dorothy's family would like to give a big thank you to Dr. Chan and the staff at Bowcrest Long Term Care, as well as Dr. Young and the nurses at Foothills Hospital Unit 46.
A Celebration of Life for Dorothy will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion - Bowness Branch #238 (138 Bowness Center NW, Calgary, AB) on Friday, October 25th, 2019 from 4:00 - 9:00 pm.
