Obituary for Donald Joseph Comeau

Donald Joseph Comeau
March 16th, 1956 - May 12th, 2021

It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Donald Joseph Comeau on Wednesday, May 12th, 2021 at the age of 65.

When Don was 17 years young, he joined the Canadian Armed Forces. Throughout his career that he loved, he served with The Royal Canadian Regiment, Airborne, 1, 2 & 3 Commando, Royal 22nd Regiment where he was a Master Corporal, Royal Canadian Air Force and the Service Battalion (Reserves).

Don loved to travel, and with his military career, he was able to see the world through many tours, including Egypt, Israel, Golan Heights (with the UN), Cypress, Germany and Bosnia.

In 2020, Don became a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 172 in Cremona, Alberta.

He is survived by his son Daniel Comeau, granddaughters Lotus Comeau and Olivia Cantafio and daughter-in-law Jennifer Doucet; son Joshua Comeau, grandson Hayden Marshall, granddaughters Nevaeh and Autumn Comeau and mother of the children Elizabeth Marshall; daughter Elisha Comeau, son-in-law Mike Gusella and expecting grandchild. He is also survived by the mother of his children Brenda Redwood; his Goddaughter Denise Savoie; aunts and uncles Gerard (Gemma) Comeau, Isidore (Therese) Comeau, Anita Kenny, Leo (Angelie) Savoie, his Godparents Stanislas (Jeannette) Savoie, Yvette Robichaud and Ida (late Emile) Savoie. He was predeceased by his parents Andre Comeau and Lorette Savoie.

Due to Covid19 restrictions, a private Prayer Service will be held at Choice Memorial (105-4715 13th Street NE) on Tuesday, May 25th. Don will then be laid to rest at Queen’s Park Cemetery (3219-4th Street NW) in the Field of Honour with a Last Post Ceremony from member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 172.
