Obituary for Diane Marilyn O'Byrne (Simons)

O'BYRNE, Diane Marilyn
December 26, 1947 Regina - June 17, 2019 Calgary

Diane O'Byrne passed away peacefully at Foothills Hospital on Monday, June 17 around 7:00 p.m. Diane is survived by daughters Dana (Richard) and Erin (Graham); her granddaughter Madeline, her grandson Foster; and sister Janice (Ken).

Diane was born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan and was a very bright child, with a passion for reading and writing. She had a love for education and was truly a life-long learner.

Diane earned her Bachelor of Education degree at the University of Regina in 1977 and went on to teach at elementary schools for a number of years. Diane also earned her Bachelor of Science degree at DeVry Institute of Technology in 1997.

Diane was a lover of life and people. She was compassionate, kind, caring and generous. Her love for her friends and family was only surpassed by her love for God, who she dedicated her life to from a young age. She spent much of her time later in life spreading the love and wisdom of God to everyone she met.

Diane had a youthful perspective on life and loved to dance. Anyone who knew her knew that she truly lived her life by the quote:

Sing like no one is listening.
Love like you've never been hurt.
Dance like nobody's watching,
and live like it's heaven on earth.
- William W. Purkey

Diane will be truly missed, as she left a mark on anyone and everyone she met. While she has left us on this Earth, we know she is in a better place, spreading her love and joy to everyone around her. Diane is now reunited with her parents Horace (Charles) and Dorothy Simons, along with our family dog, Bailey, who she loved dearly.

~ Thank you to everyone who knew and loved Diane, we know she cared and valued each and every one of you ~
