Obituary for Dennis Ralph Cosens
Dennis Cosens
April 4th, 1948 - Friday, October 25th, 2019
It is with deep sorrow and hurting hearts that Dennis Ralph Cosens was released into the great train yard in the sky on Oct 25, 2019 at the age of 71.
Dennis was born in Drumheller, Alberta to Clarence and Grace Cosens on April 4, 1948. He grew up on farms near Drumheller and later near Lenore, Manitoba. Dennis spent his teenage years in Calgary and graduated from Forest Lawn High School. He spent his adult years in Calgary enjoying riding his motorcycle and driving his Firebird. He loved to drive into BC and always said he would move there one day. That dream never came true here, but hopefully Dennis' heaven is BC. He was a lover of all things living and often would share his home with a lost kitten in the winter, robins would nest in the eaves of his home, and squirrels have been known to forage in his garage which he didn’t mind. Dennis was a jack of all trades and could fix anything that needed fixing; he would give a helping hand to anyone who needed it. That was just Dennis lending a hand wherever he could whether to people or animals. He lived his life in a way many did not understand, but a kinder soul it was hard to find. In his later years Dennis enjoyed photographing trains and spent many hours at the train yard waiting for the next engine to roll in.
Dennis leaves to continue the ride here on earth his son, Patrick (Amanda); daughter, Tracy (Yassir); grandchildren Darci (Travis), Alyssa (Colton), Jayce; Chelsea, Felicia, Omar, Adam, and Sofiyah; great grandchildren, Lucus, Brynleigh, Caleb, Natalia, Kyran and Makenna. Dennis also leaves his sisters and one brother, Darlene (Herb), Raymond (Barb) Lorraine (David), Brenda, Sherry-Lynn (Peter); nieces, nephews; great nieces and great nephews to numerous to mention.
In lieu of flowers donations are gratefully accepted by the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada in Dennis' name.
A Funeral Service will be at Choice Memorial on Monday, November 4, 2019 at 10am with reception and graveside service to follow.
