Darryl Tonn
July 20, 1960 - April 24, 2021
It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the sudden passing of Darryl Tonn due to cardiac arrest on April 24, 2021 in Calgary, Alberta. Darryl was born on July 20, 1960 in Vancouver, British Columbia and moved to Calgary with his family in 1969.
Darryl had a bold character and lived life on his own terms. A hard worker, he excelled at most things he tried, and was the guy you called when you needed something done. He loved spending time with his many friends who treated him as family. Darryl cherished his family, and would do anything for them. He was most proud of his sons and grandson, Michael.
In the winter Darryl enjoyed spending time on his snowmobile, and in the summer, he loved riding his Harley, camping, boating in BC and cheering on the Calgary Stampeders.
Darryl will be forever loved and greatly missed by his parents, Lauretta and Lawrence Ritz; sons, Bradley Biggs (Kaitlin), and Dustin Biggs (Sarah); grandson, Michael; siblings, Cheryl Schroeder (Dave), Kevin Ritz, Sheldon Ritz (Daune); nephews, nieces, aunts, cousins, and many friends.
There will be no memorial service, but the family encourages extended family and friends to celebrate Darryl's life in their own way. Those wishing to do so may make a memorial donation in Darryl's memory to a children's charity of their choice.
